Take Your Best Shot At The 6th Annual Cowboys & Indians Magazine Photo Contest
Online, September 8, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Whether you're a professional photographer or an amateur shutterbug, Cowboys & Indians wants to see - and share - your finest photos of the best of the West. Entries now are being accepted for the 6th Annual Cowboys & Indians Photo Contest, and the prize-winning submissions will be showcased in the March 2011 issue of the magazine.
The best photos will be drawn from five contest categories:
• Portrait: Photographs of cowboys or Indians as individuals or groups.
• Landscape: Photographs of plants and landscapes; geological or climatological features located west of the Mississippi.
• Wildlife: Photographs of animals indigenous to North America inhabiting areas west of the Mississippi.
• Action: Photographs of individuals participating in activities west of the Mississippi, or traditional American cowboy or Native American activities taking place around the world.
• Equine: Photographs of horses.
A grand prize of $1,000 will go to the 2011 Photo Contest winner - the entry judged overall best in the competition - and first-place winners in the five contest categories each will receive $500.
Images must be submitted by e-mail in .JPEG format, no larger than 2 MB in size, to [email protected]. Each contestant will be expected to include in the e-mail his or her name, age, mailing address, daytime phone number, and e-mail address. Deadline for submissions is October 14, 2010.
