Thai Gem to Launch Gems & Jewelry Distribution Center in Mumbai

Online, November 29, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Thai Gem & Jewelry Traders Association (TGJTA) today announced the launching of the first Thailand gems & jewelry distribution center overseas in Mumbai, India to be officially open on December 1, 2010.

Thai Gem & Jewelry Association entered into an agreement with ACKRUTI, leading real estate companies of India with diversified interests across several verticals, to launch gems & jewelry distribution center in Mumbai central business district, as according to Mr Somchai Phornchindarak, Vice President of TGJTA and Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair CEO.

The first DC internationally as launched by TGJTA will be at ACKRUTI City Emerald commercial complex in the top-end wholesalers and retailers catering to clients having unlimited purchasing power of Mumbai with strikingly imposing design and ultra-modern amenities. This will also to facilitate trading between Thai suppliers and Indian gems & jewelry wholesalers, retailers and consumers who are in high demands of quality gems & jewelry from Thailand.

The Opening Ceremony of the Thai Gem & Jewelry Traders Association Distribution Center will be held on December 1, 2010 from 11.00 to 13.00 at ACKRUTI City Emerald. It is to be presided over by H.E. Mrs. Porntiva Nakasai, Minister of Commerce, Royal Thai Government. The other distinguished guests from Thailand include Mrs. Nuntawan Sakuntanaga, Thailand Department of Export Promotion Director General, Mr Boonyong Assarasakorn, TGJTA Chairman of Advisory Board, Mr Vichai Assarasakorn, TGJTA President, Mr Atul Jogani, TGJTA Vice President and Mr Somchai Phornchindarak, TGJTA Vice President.

India is ranked as the sixth largest importer of gems & jewelry from Thailand for an amount of US$275 million with an annual growth about fourteen percent. India is also the largest exporter of diamonds to Thailand.

The DC which covers more than 200-square-metres is expected to house leading Thai gems & jewelry suppliers that will stock huge quantities of products ready for distribution.
