The Consulate General of Ireland in Austin and GlobalAustin Co-Host Peace and Prosperity Through Economic Diplomacy

AUSTIN, Texas, September 16, 2019 (Newswire.com) - ​​GlobalAustin and the Consulate General of Ireland in Austin, are proud to announce Peace and Prosperity through Economic Diplomacy, an event to celebrate and emphasize the contribution of economic diplomacy in promoting global peace on Sept. 18, 2019, at Chateau Bellevue in Austin. The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a networking reception followed by a panel discussion during a seated dinner.

David Firestein, CEO, The George H.W. Bush Foundation for US-China Relations will moderate a panel discussion between Claire McCarthy, Consul General of Ireland in Austin, Pablo Marentes, Consul General of Mexico in Austin, Cai Wei, Consul General of People’s Republic of China in Houston and James Bell, CEO, Alliance Abroad Group. The panel discussion will cover the impact of foreign direct investment and international trade on economies globally. The event will allow the community to converse on how economic diplomacy positively impacts varied global conditions. “Through its role in promoting citizen diplomacy and its efforts to increase awareness of global issues, GlobalAustin has been a great support to the Consulate General of Ireland since our opening in 2015.
