By John W. Hall

John W. Hall's new book creatively reveals the benefits and applications of Advanced Time Management techniques and demonstrates how all managers can improve personal and team productivity as well as lifting engagement in the workplace, regardless of their experience or their professional sector.

Never before has the role of manager been of greater importance. Thanks in part to the global credit crunch, both the public and private sectors have been put under tremendous strain and organisations are being forced to adapt or die. Managers must find a new sense of purpose to lift themselves and the teams they lead above these turbulent economic waters and embrace a fresh approach if they are to remain effective and competitive moving beyond the recession.

In his first book, The Time Advantage, experienced senior manager John W. Hall provides the kind of miraculous recipe that weary and overloaded managers the world over are searching for in order to help them reinvigorate their working practices.

Advanced Time Management. These three magic words represent the techniques that will enable managers, regardless of their experience or their industry, to learn how to make every single second of the working day count. By integrating new and existing managerial techniques, The Time Advantage brings together some of the multifarious strategies behind Advanced Time Management, and vibrantly showcases the principles and techniques that will doubtless prove irresistible to managers everywhere. Moving readers forward from basic time management practices, The Time Advantage suggests what managers should be spending time upon, such as the management of purpose and perception, the creation of a productive time culture, the identification and resolution of time blockages, the exploitation of time levers and the effective motivation and empowerment of staff. Getting these areas of focus right can take a degree of finesse, but by employing the techniques which lie at the heart of Advanced Time Management, managers can experience a profound improvement in their personal, and their team's, productivity.

John W. Hall's The Time Advantage is distinct from other business texts of its kind, employing an engaging and entertaining narrative approach to exploring the application and the benefits of Advanced Time Management. Hall uses a central character with whom all managers can identity and who has embarked upon his own journey of learning and self-improvement. Readers follow his journey as he visits a raft of distinguished professors, each with sage advice on the applications and issues raised by Advanced Time Management, such as constructing inspirational purposes, utilising momentum and recognition strategies, changing poor time habits, hunting out opportunities to save time and manage better. Stylish and compelling, with teasing puzzles to solve as the story unfolds, Hall's creative illustration of these key principles of Advanced Time Management allows for the reader to test themselves on their understanding of the subject in tandem with the progress of his managerial hero. Inspirational and tangible, The Time Advantage is a story, complete with twists and turns, that is guaranteed to promote action, provoke discussion, and provide enjoyment for managers who know they need a purposeful approach to using their time.
