They are also cost effective although initially more expensive. The cost of LED lighting is soon be recouped and within any new build allows easy compliance with the new building regulation energy saving requirements.
With all these benefits, LED's are best suited for indoor gardens to enhance plant lighting. The number one factor to consider is how much light coverage you want your plants to receive. If the grow light is not good, small, weak plants will result with an inability to fruit. LED's produce minimal heat that help reduce air conditioning costs and will not burn plants. LED grow lights do not produce heat as much as other conventional lights such as incandescent, fluorescent and high intensity discharge (HID). Heat from lighting usually implies high current consumption. This will really mean considerable savings!
