The new Z Ray equips the windshields and windows of motor vehicles with a high-visibility, low-glare tinted film. Windshields and windows incorporating the Z Ray technology offers motorists the many advantages of tinted windows — cooler interior, more privacy, better UV protection, and most importantly—better visual contrast and reduced glare in difficult conditions—ranging from bright sunlight to rain, sleet, snow, fog and nighttime.

The Z Ray technology consists of a thin polymeric film that is yellow-tinted and sandwiched and sealed between layers of clear laminated glass. The yellow or amber tint provides superior contract and enhanced visibility in all conditions while eliminating the glare in a way similar to that of an individual having a cataract removed. The Z Ray concept could also be used in the production of light-reactive polychromatic films – which darken in response to bright light and lighten in response to low light levels. Televised test marketing has recently been completed indicating strong consumer interest in the Z Ray.
