Christmas-lover Steve DeVane said he started the site because of the annual issues over buying presents for friends and family members.

"Every year, I hear it over and over again from almost everyone I know," he said. "Every time I turn around, someone is saying, 'I don't know what to buy,' or 'I really want to give something memorable.'"

DeVane said he's enjoyed doing the research for the Unique Christmas Presents website.

"To be honest, I didn't even know some of those gifts even existed," he said. "Who knew that you could give someone the opportunity to drive a race car or jump out of an airplane?"

The site has gift options for those who like to think creatively and for those who are shopping for fun-loving adventurers, DeVane said.

"When I envisioned the site, I wanted to make it easy to buy unique Christmas presents for most anyone on your gift list," he said. "During the holidays, you don't want to be worried about what to buy for your friends and relatives. You'd rather be spending time with them than out shopping for them."

The Internet has made that possible. DeVane said he hopes to expand the site in the future.

"I'm happy with the options we have now," he said. "But I want to offer even more unique Christmas presents soon."
