USA Cloud Server Users Significantly Ahead Of Their UK Counterparts According To Latest Survey

UK companies are significantly behind their USA cloud server counterparts according to latest studies

A new study released by the University of Manchester Business School reports a trend where the uptake of cloud technology is far higher in the US than the UK. The study is based on a survey from one of largest open cloud companies in the world,. It reports that although over 80 percent of Cloud Users have saved money by using the Cloud, the distribution of its use over the Atlantic is uneven. In both in the UK and the US, cloud usage has had beneficial effects and helped reduce overheads, according to the survey. Over 60 per cent of those businesses used the savings to reinvest into their business. Companies across the pond appear to be more embracing of the technology with over 70 percent of State side businesses adopting cloud technology while the UK appears to be playing catch up with only 40% switching to the Cloud. The report was taken from a survey of over 1300 companies in the UK and US, with an equal number in each country surveyed independently between 2012 and 2013.

"There is certainly scope for both new start up and established businesses to save money by switching over to Cloud computing. The main advantage is that businesses with a small capital can have access to IT facilities usually reserved for much larger companies from the beginning. This can not only save money, but it can also boost profits directly. " commented Darren Lavender of UK based company PlanetHippo Internet Limited. Their mission critical hosting surface has guaranteed over 99.9% uptime which is essential for business use. PlanetHippo have recently upgraded their open technologies as part of their data centre upgrade in 2010 to cater to UK companies.
