Way to Transform Shridhar University - Unfolding of a Dream in Shekhawati Region of Rajasthan India

The most successful economies of the world are the ones which have high quality human resources and well-developed network of knowledge-driven institutions. For India, this transformation can happen only by increased access to good quality education.

The Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) for a developing nation requires that 40 out of 100 in the age group 18-24 go to higher education while for India in reality it is only about 12.

The Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee in his convocation address at IIM Shillong has expressed that the government intends to increase the GER from existing 12.4 per cent to 30 per cent by 2020.

The HRD Minister Kapil Sibal in his recent CII address has stated that India needs an additional 600 universities and 35,000 colleges in the next 12 years to ensure that greater percentage of students take up higher education and for this to happen private sector participation would be an essential element.
