On June 15, the daily nonprofit news site Women's eNews will celebrate 10 years of international prize-winning journalism that tells women's stories.

Women's eNews will celebrate its 10th birthday on Sunday June 27, marking the end of a month-long online fundraising campaign asking readers to donate $1 for every year of Women's eNews' operation. The celebration will feature a screening of "Pray the Devil Back to Hell", a documentary by Abigail Disney and Gini Reticker, who will lead a discussion on the pair's upcoming PBS series "Women, War and Peace".

During the past decade, Women's eNews has grown into an interactive news organization: distributing women's images and narratives across the Internet in three languages, into more than 55,000 e-mail inboxes every day and online to 150,000 people every month.

Founded in 2000 by award-winning journalist Rita Henley Jensen, a former welfare mother and survivor of domestic violence, Women's eNews weathered the recession while managing to expand its offices, redesign and relaunch its Web site and added video, audio and social media to its news reporting tools.

Women's eNews' reporting in the United States focuses on women's issues that are often simply ignored by other news media. This year, special series probed African American maternal health, women and immigration and women and the economy.

The site's daily news stories are written by regular contributors in the Middle East, India and Africa. Women's eNews' seasoned local reporters add on the ground insight and knowledge to Women's eNews stories and quote women around the world who are deeply knowledgeable but rarely tapped by news media.

Women's eNews launched the Arabic sister site www.awomensenews.org in 2003, providing news on global women's issues for Arabic-speaking audiences around the world.
