Worcester Combines Energy And Nature In Chelsea Flower Show Urban Garden
Online, March 22, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Leading boiler manufacturer, Worcester, Bosch Group, is helping show just how nature can seamlessly provide energy for our homes, through its stunning Urban Garden at this year's Chelsea Flower Show, 24 - 28th May.
Working with award winning architect and landscape designer, Olivia Kirk, who scooped a Silver Gilt award at last year's show, the urban garden incorporates solar, ground source and air source heat pumps among an abundance of striking planting and features chosen to represent the four elements of earth, air, fire and water.
Sue Pennington, consumer brand manager at Worcester, Bosch Group said:
"Home heating and hot water accounts for a perhaps surprising 82% of the UK's emissions, so we wanted this garden to echo the message we are actually surrounded by natural energy sources that can be harnessed to help provide both for our homes and lessen our impact on the environment. Presenting the options, from solar to heat pumps, in a very different way challenges the way we see renewable technology and will hopefully make people consider their energy options in a new way."
Continuing the renewable theme, the stunning garden will be rebuilt at Worcester's headquarters in Worcestershire ahead of its 50th birthday celebrations which will be in 2012, forming a lasting space that visitors can enjoy for years to come.
Worcester and Olivia Kirk's Urban Garden can be seen at the show between Tuesday 24th and Saturday 28th May 2011.
