Amazon web series ‘Now Go build’ which features Amazon CTO Werner Vogels visiting disruptive companies across the globe has just aired the episode with Singapore based Zimplistic, the company behind the award-winning kitchen robot Rotimatic. Before learning how to make a roti, Werner interviewed Zimplistic’s founders - Pranoti Nagarkar and Rishi Israni, about their journey and the technology which went into building the world’s first fully automatic flatbread making robot - Rotimatic. The episode can be viewed here on AWS YouTube channel.

"Good and healthy food is the heart and core of our business. Our mission is to empower and enable people to eat healthier with the use of technology,” says Pranoti Nagarkar, Founder and Co-CEO of Zimplistic.

Rishi Israni, CEO and Co-Founder, Zimplistic, passionate about solving the existing food-related problems in the world, lifestyle diseases being one of the biggest threats, elaborated on how Rotimatic is a step towards using technology and connected devices to help transform the food-tech ecosystem to empower people to make fresh, healthy food with convenience.

Werner was happy to hear that the IoT infrastructure powered by AWS is key in enhancing Rotimatic user experience with features as remote troubleshooting and software updates including recipes which enable the kitchen robot to evolve as a flatbread making platform. Other than roti, Rotimatic is also able to dispense pizza bases, pearl millet flour flatbreads, puri discs and recipes such as tortilla and gluten-free flatbreads are soon to be introduced.

Zimplistic was selected for the second episode of Now Go Build to showcase companies that apply Amazon Web Services to actively use the IoT infrastructure to solve real human problems.

Loved by more than 50,000 people across 20 countries, Werner agreed Rotimatic is an “amazing device” that is creating a revolution in the food-tech industry. Werner also spoke about Zimplistic at the Amazon Web Services Summit 2019, in Santa Clara.
