ZYZXX Podcast Announces Song Of The Week

Online, July 4, 2011 (Newswire.com) - The ZYZXX Podcast is doing a ZYZXX Song of the Week Podcast that will spotlight songs from independent and underground artists and bands nationwide. Each week will feature one song from one group or solo project.

Song of the Week releases thus far have featured Los Angeles band Wait.Think.Fast's tune "Bad Night". Wait.Think.Fast have been featured on KCRW and opened for Corin Tucker in Los Angeles last year. The most recent ZYZXX Song of the Week is entitled "The Girl Lights Up" by Arizona band The Love Me Nots. The ZYZXX Song of the Week will be available through the same subscription as the ZYZXX monthly music and humor show.

ZYZXX is a music and humor podcast produced by Los Angeles writer and journalist Jen Hitchcock. It is modeled after her 1990's fanzine of the same name. Each episode features an interview with independent and underground band or artist, mostly, but not limited to the Los Angeles music scene. Also featured are humorous segments that parody popular culture and take aim at all aspects of society.

Episode 2, released June 15th, 2011 features music and an interview with Ruby Friedman of the Ruby Friedman Orchestra. The Ruby Friedman Orchestra will be performing in Los Angeles at The Echo on July 24th. ZYZXX Episode 2 also featured a new comedic film review segment hosted by Sugar T. Russell called Old Hollywood Reviews.

Released in May, the debut episode of the ZYZXX Podcast featured Paris and Los Angeles based artist Lisa Papineau. Papineau is putting out new releases this summer both with her band Big Sir and ME & LP, her project with Matt Embree. The ZYZXX Podcast can be subscribed to and downloaded for free at Itunes and other podcatching services.
